Getting Broadband Internet out to Rural Communities remains a serious problem in the U.S. Let us know what your experiences have been in getting broadband access.
Now that RAIN has national DSL we have some options to the super big Telecommunications Corporations.
Issues such as how easy is it for you to change DSL providers and how easy is it for you to change your type of subscription have become increasingly important.
Should there be more than one or two DSL providers to choose from? Should Internet Access be guaranteed for low income families and seniors?
These and other questions will be the focus of this blog discussion. Let us know what you think.

I recently read that much of the federal money set aside for extending broad band to rural areas has been used only in wealthy suburban areas and has not been spent on extending faster internet access to poor and remote rural regions.
I live in the Ozarks, a primarily rural part of Missouri and Arkansas, and we only have cable and DSL in large cities and towns.
People in the country have to rely on wireless aircards (if they live in range of 3G cell tower) or satellite, which can be very expensive. Dial-up out here only reaches speeds of 24 kbps.
